An advanced medical directive, normally known in Florida as a healthcare surrogate designation, is a way for you to appoint an agent for making decisions regarding your important healthcare matters. Starting in October of this year, you need not be incapacitated for your agent to be authorized to act on your behalf. A living will is the end time decision and has now been adopted by all 50 states. You may specify the terms of the living will and what activities you wish to have discontinued to allow a natural death.
