Yes, the eligibility rules for home and community based Medicaid services are the same as they are for nursing home Medicaid. The current income limit is $2,199 per month. The current asset limit is $2,000 for both programs. However the application process is different. To file for home and community based Medicaid you must first be placed on a waiting list and get to the top of the waiting list before you can make your application. For a nursing home Medicaid you may make your application as soon as you’re admitted into the nursing home.
