How do I figure out what the penalty period is for transferring property?
Video Transcript
The penalty period for transferring property is arrived at by taking the amount of money that you have given away within the previous five years before your application and dividing it by the divisor amount. The current divisor amount is $7,995. As an example, if you gave away $7,995 within the previous five years, you would be penalized for one month, once you made your medicaid application.
