What are the duties of a personal representative?

The personal representative acts in a fiduciarial capacity for an estate. Some of their duties are to gather the assets, notify all of the interested parties to the estate, notify all of the creditors of the estate, pay the bills of the estate, and also to file and pay the taxes for the estate. Finally, the last duty of the personal representative is to distribute the assets of the estate to the beneficiaries.
