There are several types of probate proceedings in the state of Florida. A formal administration can last a year or more, and is where you have more than $75,000 of unexempt assets to go through the probate.

Another type is a summary administration probate. This can last about 2-3 months, and it’s where you have less than $75,000 of unexempt assets to go through the probate proceeding.

Some examples of some exempt assets that do l=not count towards that limit are your homestead, 2 motor vehicles, and furnishings within your home.
