The main benefit to having a trust is that the assets is that the assets that you put in trust can avoid probate. Another big benefit for a trust is that you can avoid guardianship. You can have a successor trustee appointed so that if you something happens to you, they can manage the assets for you while you’re incapacitated. The trust also has the benefit of having creditor protection of your beneficiaries’ inheritances so that their money is not subject to their creditors.
