When a probate is filed, the personal representative needs to make sure that all of the interested parties receive notice of the petition for probate. Those will be people who are named in the Will and also who’s interests will be affected by the outcome of the Will. In addition to notifying those interested parties, the personal representative also needs to notify all of the creditors of the estate that there’s been a petition for probate, so that they can make their claim.
