Can I name a trust as the beneficiary of my life insurance policies, annuities, and retirement accounts?
You may designate the trustee of your trust to be the beneficiary of your life insurance, annuity, or IRA. For example, an IRA could be left to a trustee of a trust but normally we would use specialized sub trust one for each human beneficiary. Please be careful as these do have tax ramifications. Talk to your elder law attorney before you decide to leap.
