Getting To Know Orange Park And Our Local Communities
We’ve been talking a lot in our office recently about the tremendous growth in the communities we serve in Orange Park, Jacksonville, Julington Creek, and St. Augustine, and one thing we all agree on is how we enjoy taking the time to get to know the people, places, and history in the local communities and surrounding areas.
As we have taken time to think about how important Orange Park is to us personally and professionally, we often marvel at how this busy and contentiously-growing town was once a sleepy village.
In fact, according to the Town of Orange Park’s Website, in an article titled, Brief History of Orange Park, “The Town of Orange Park was founded in 1877 by the Florida Winter Home and Improvement Company, with owners and trustees predominantly from Boston, Massachusetts. As a direct result of hard times following the Civil War, the old “McIntosh” plantation at Laurel Grove was in shambles and changed hands several times.”
While it’s true that Orange Park is now a large suburban area that can often get congested with traffic, there’s still some old Orange Park and living history all around us, and if you get off of the main highways, and take the time to drive or around Kingsley Avenue, Plainfield Avenue, River Road and other streets in the actual Town of Orange Park, you will enjoy the natural beauty and spot a few noteworthy, historic destinations along the way. We plan to continue to seek out the best in our community and share what we find with you via our website and social media and hope you enjoy getting to know more about our local communities as much as we do.
Our main office is in Orange Park on Kingsley Avenue, and we are proud to serve this bustling community and surrounding neighborhoods in Clay County, including Fleming Island, Middleburg, Green Cove Springs, and Keystone Heights.
