Now Is The Time For Estate Planning

The Coronavirus pandemic has clearly affected all of our lives, and many people have found that this unprecedented public health crisis is an important time to address their Estate Planning needs. We agree with this decision to create or update essential documents in order for clients to protect themselves and their loved ones in the event of incapacity or death. Expressing your wishes regarding health care and finances in the event of incapacity or death, including planning for the care of minor children, could not be more timely.
As statewide and local stay-at-home and shelter-in-place orders are relaxed or expire, we are pleased to see many old and new clients who now feel comfortable to come in person to our main office in Kingsley Village in Orange Park for appointments. We now also have the ability again to provide in-person appointments at our Hampton Park/East Baymeadows and Julington Creek/Mandarin offices in Jacksonville; and at our King Street/U.S. 1 St. Augustine location.
During this time, many of our clients have found that they like the added convenience of telephone and video conferences. In addition, with our ability to provide secure online digital document delivery and pick up, some clients are also choosing to work with us remotely, unless or until their in-person witnessed or notarized signatures are required.
While we continue to encourage you not to panic, we do encourage you to use this time to have important discussions with your family and loved ones; and to establish or update your Estate Plan.
However we can help you, we are available. Please be safe and let us help you with your and your family’s personal Elder Law and Estate Planning needs.
